SUMMARY

The Network Administrator is responsible for network and telecommunications administration, in a virtual network environment. Primary areas of responsibility include setup and support of desktops, servers, mobile devices, network resources and telecommunication. In addition, the position will support, install and maintain systems components such as server software, anti-virus, email filters, web content filters, and system backup and requires project management skills. This position provides technical support to clients throughout the organization including senior executives and board of directors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

Network Administration
Monitor systems health, performance and event logs on a daily basis.
Install, maintain, and update applications such as such as MS search server and helpdesk.
Maintain and monitor day to day virus trends to ensure network stability and continuity.

Technical Support
Provide a high level of customer service with technical support to all users including senior level executives and coordinate priority of requests with other technicians.
Perform technical support for all users of corporate software applications. (Office 2010, Adobe Acrobat & Illustrator and Flash).
Perform technical support for web based applications including Bloomberg.
Troubleshoot and resolve software/hardware support requests.
Install, modify and repair PC-based hardware systems, including high volume copiers, printers and fax machines.
Recommend appropriate hardware and software configurations changes, create new process as needed.
Maintain vendor relationships and purchase equipment as needed.

Telecommunications
Support internal PBX/VoIP telephone system including ShoreTel, OTM software and Call pilot voicemail system.

Mobile Device Administration (iPhone, iPad and Blackberry)
Maintain and monitor Blackberry Enterprise server
Assist with deploying and maintaining handheld voice and data devices and their server software including iPhone, iPad, Blackberry.

QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
This position requires a highly experienced and productive individual with the ability to be proficient across a wide variety of technologies and capable of providing superior technical support across a variety of assignments.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated senior level experience with Microsoft Windows enterprise environment and standard applications in a virtual environment, such as Windows 7 and MS Office 2010; strong organizational and time management skills, with a focus on working efficiently, and a willingness to participate in off-hours support coverage rotation and work occasional late hours and weekends as needed.

The candidate must be able to identify and solve problems quickly in a professional manner and demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills. In addition to being a motivated self-starter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, candidates must have significant experience and knowledge in the following areas:

Providing superior levels of technical support and customer service to all levels within the organization, including executives and board members
Administering telecommunications in both a PBX and VOIP environment
Administering Blackberry Enterprise server and set up and maintenance of mobile devices including Blackberry and iPhone
Network administration in a Windows virtual environment
Managing firewall and security appliances
Supporting Office 2010 and Windows 7
Working under pressure with time sensitive deadlines

Additional desirable skills and experience include:

Setting up enterprise level secure wireless networks
Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Flash, Acrobat, HTML
Cisco POE switches and firewalls and Ironport email and web content filtering
Shoretel VoIP and Nortel PBX

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The position requires extensive phone and computer work, both software and hardware, for extended periods of time. This position also requires the ability to lift hardware and equipment that weighs a minimum of 30 pounds; must be able to use small intricate tools for the purpose of computer repair and installation. Position also requires the differentiation of colors, shapes and symbols as needed for working with machinery, computer hardware, and certain software applications.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is generally quiet, but is high profile and at times, very fast paced. The position is located on an upper floor of a high rise office building. Incumbent may be required to work within any of the floors and/or offices that the company maintains.
